Today The Wild Cranes

Today the wild cranes passed me by

I heard them first, then searched the skies.

A thousand miles and more, they fly.

Today the wild cranes passed me by.

Today the wild cranes passed me by

Reminding me of better times

when I was naive and the world was mine

Today the wild cranes passed me by.

Fly so far, fly so low, fly to places I would go

If I had wings to take me there, I’d fly in circles in the air.

Today the wild cranes passed me by.

Their voices carried on the wind

I watched them spiral, then ascend.

Today the wild cranes passed me by.

Fly so far, fly so low, fly to places I would go

If I had wings to take me there, I’d fly in circles in the air.
