How Time Flies

How time flies. Seasons change before our eyes. Like a summer storm’s surprise, things come and then they go.

Dreams, like sighs, rise and fall like lullabies. Tonight, when I close my eyes, who will know I am only sleeping?

God knows I miss you. I don’t think springtime will ever be the same. There are so many things I would tell you if I could only see you face to face.

Sometimes I try to catch the wind and tame the sky. How foolish and small am I to think I alone can will the rain to fall?

At morning’s first light, I’ll tie these tears like a tail to a kite, let them fly into a clear blue sky and remember the sound of you laughing.

God knows I miss you. I don’t think springtime will ever be the same. There are so many things I would tell you if I could only see you face to face.
